Don't Pee by the Side of the Road . . . & Other Messages from the Meeting

There are 2-3 porta potties per station and lineups are guaranteed.  Remember to make use of the Public Washrooms and Outhouses that are provided at the Park Rest Areas.

Driving Rules
  • Absolutely no U-Turns at any time.  Fine is $115.00  Go to the roadside turnouts.
  • Hazard Lights must be ON when stopping by the side of the road.
  • Safety Vest ON when crossing the highway to assist runners. Penalty: 20 minutes.
  • No Parking, along the first kilometer of Leg 1.  The Rancher has cows that get upset. - don't cheer or honk either.   Last year the rancher moved the cows to a different field be we don't know if he will this year.   Can you imagine what would happen if they were chickens?  (Chickens . . . Roads. . .  crossing problems)
Leg 1 Rules
  • Due to the congestion at Leg 1, plan to take your own water.
  • Team Cheering, Encouragement, and Support will not be available for the first 10 - 12k.
  • Do not drive along side runner. - Leg 1
  • Do not pass other cars. - Leg 1
  • No Parking for the first 800 meters.
  • and then the no cheering, honking etc. due to the cows that are watching.
Info for Everyone
  • Everyone receives a check-in card in the race package that will be exchanged for a bib number at the check-in tents.  
  • Medical Alerts should be written on the the back of the Race Bib so we can easily find out why you collapsed.
  • Get to the check-in station at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the leg. There can be line-ups to check-in.
  • Every Leg has a forced start time.  Be aware of this time.
  • AND - Your bib number is your meal ticket - don't lose it.  Extra tickets $10.00 for anybody else.
  • Finally - remember to smile and have fun!
