2008 Team

This was a difficult year due to circumstances beyond our control.  The 2 girls and I  were waiting at the start of leg 8 to watch Shauna start . .  when a leg 7 runner arrived and collapsed 3 feet from where we were standing.  Roads were closed, traffic stopped; yet runners kept running.  Drama was high while police, ambulance and finally Stars Air Ambulance arrived.  But runners were getting hot and thirsty since no support was allowed to travel for a while.   In the end . . .  the man didn't make it, there were 2 other accidents and our runner was very tired and thirsty as I am sure many others were as well.
